The patio is extremely loud as you enter the restaurant even though there was no one sitting out there. Once inside, the noise level was acceptable.
We started with the 1800 Margaritas that were on special, they were very good. Our appetizer was the green corn tamale bites. These are ball-shaped miniature green corn tamales lightly breaded and deep-fried. They are served with Baja sauce which consists of cream cheese, jalapeñ0, and cream; positively addicting. The green corn tamales are excellent with full sweet corn flavor.
I chose to have refried beans and a cheese crisp. The beans were very good, quite thick, full bean flavor and nothing extra to interfere but I would have preferred some Mexican cheese rather than the standard mild cheddar orange stuff that they all seem to use here. The cheese crisp was very good, very crisp and fully covered with the cheese. J selected the green chili pork stew; this appeared to be a very meaty stew served with flour tortillas. J said it was very good. I failed to record what M selected but it contained shrimp; he did say that it was good.
There are adequate beer choices and the iced tea is good.
