Lou’s Restaurant & Bakery

Visited 7 May, 2018.

This is basically an old-fashioned diner (just not open for dinner). Nothing fancy or frilly in the decorations; just a lot of booths (UGH) and a few tables, you know the style.

I ordered a buttermilk pancake with real maple syrup and one egg cooked over medium. I buttered my pancake but it was already cool enough that the butter did not melt into the pancake. I then cut it in half to sandwich my egg. The egg was cooked medium but seemed more braised than fried. I poured some of the maple syrup on top and took a bite. Too dry! I then poured the contents of the entire little bottle over the top. All of it was absorbed by the time that I finished; so, while the flavor was good, it was a bit too dry. J selected french toast with strawberries and whipped cream. He stated that his was good but I noticed that there were not really very many berries.

Overall, it was decent and has the added advantage of being the only thing (other than hotel restaurants) open before 7:30. I will probably try it again.
