The appearance is surprising, it is a log cabin with spacious grounds. Interior decoration fits the exterior and is quite comfortable.
Shortly after being seated we were served pleasant warm bread and butter (D said the butter was sweetened so I had none.). J and I chose to have salad bar with our mains, D did not. The salad bar had lots of goodies to add to your basic greens, all of them fresh and well made. I had a very good salad. D and J both had prime rib with a side of french fries which they declared to be very good. I had the peppercorn steak, a New York strip rolled in crushed peppercorns and drizzled with mustard butter. I found the peppercorns a bit much as they were quite coarse and completely coated the steak. The mustard butter was okay but I would rather have had it left off. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was served medium (bordering on medium well), however, it had very good meat flavor. My steak was accompanied by a baked potato with sour cream, this was cooked perfectly.
Overall, not bad, I could dine there again.
