Modern decor but comfortable enough though loud and echoey when full of people. I found the temperature to be a bit warm, open large door to outside patio just behind my seat.
Scallop Crudo was J’s selection for starter. He was a bit surprised as he did not realize that it would be raw, but he enjoyed it and said that it was very good. I had a bit of a debate but went for pasta, tagliatelle lightly coated with tomato sugo and small pieces of tender veal with parmesan shavings and something that gave it a very slight crunch. It was interesting and very good, the pasta was perfectly cooked. J chose the salmon for his main dish which he also declared to be excellent and perfectly cooked. My main dish, short rib vaccinara, was very tender short ribs in a Barolo agrodolce; delicious. Oh yes, there was some charred broccolini on the plate as well which I am sure was quite fine (not my cup of tea). Desserts were lemon panne cotta for J and tiramisu for me. The panne cotta was smooth pudding with a light lemon flavor atop an almond butter cake and topped with berry jam. My tiramisu was different from the norm but very tasty. It was a fairly thick layer of dark chocolate topped with a traditional style Frangelico infused tiramisu, for crunch there were tiny bits of toasted banana and hazelnuts strewn on the side.
The espresso was quite good and J enjoyed his latte.
We will return.
